How this is calculated
Use non-overlapping time blocks from the same day or comparable period. Paid hours means total person-hours, not opening hours. Include employer costs in the hourly cost or extra cost once. Hour coverage is an aggregate check; it cannot verify simultaneous staffing or legal compliance.
Staff cost = paid staff hours × average hourly cost + extra costs. Sales per staff hour = sales / paid staff hours. Hour gap = max(0, shift duration × minimum staff − paid hours).

How each tool works & FAQ
How do I count paid hours?
Four staff paid for five hours each equals 20 person-hours. Split hours across blocks without counting them twice.
Does enough total hours mean enough staff throughout the shift?
No. Check the actual roster, arrival times, breaks and tasks separately.
